Jesus excoriates the Pharisees and lawyers for appearing to be something they are not. He calls them hypocrites. Be careful! Might any one of us be guilty of the same sin?

For Discussion:

1. Give examples of how people today seek praise from society but miss the things that God demands.
2. Does hypocrisy in others prevent you from becoming a Christian? Do you feel like you are better than that?
3. It is becoming clear in the Gospel of Luke that Jesus wants change deep within our hearts. How can each of us open ourselves up to that kind of change?
