Luke 8 takes us on Jesus’ travels along with numerous companions. He challenges us to listen carefully, and by his miracles he challenges us to think about who he is.

For Discussion:

1.     Jesus emphasizes the importance of hearing and listening (8, 12-15, 18, 21). What does he mean when he says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear”?

2.     We have seen Jesus heal various diseases before, even raising someone from the dead. The disciples experience going from a violent storm to a totally calm sea. What makes the miracle in the boat so remarkable? Does this affect what you think about Jesus?

3.     Discuss the other miracles in this chapter: a demon-possessed man, a woman with a bleeding disorder, and a young girl raised from the dead. What is unique about each one?

Enjoy the conversation.
